Happy Birthday to Rebecca

It has been pretty hot and actually humid here! We had a crazy storm this week!!! It happened on Saturday. It was fine all morning and afternoon and then that night around 7, the rain hit, and it hit hard. It came down harder than I've seen in a long time. The wind was blowing like crazy and the rain was hitting us and coming from every direction. But the Lord is perfect in his timing and we didn't have to be out it for every long :) We were stopping by the house of a potential investigator when the wind started going crazy. We knocked twice with nothing, but I decided to try one last time. Right as I knocked the storm quieted enough that they were able to here the knock and came to the door! By the time he came to the door the wind was blowing again and the rain blew right into us as we were standing in their TINY little doorway. I just know I was making the ugliest face of surprise at the wind and rain hitting me when he opened the door, but he let us in! His wife was there to so we talked with them as we waited through the worst part of the wind and rain. We scheduled a return appointment and they are now our two newest investigators :) Never before have I loved rain so much. Speaking of, I have come to find that I actually miss the rain! Crazy!!! Anyways, that night as we tried going to more houses, the lightning got progressively worse to the point that you couldn't even count to one before the sky would light up again. We didn't have much time left in the day, but we felt like we should head home because we didn't feel very safe. I took a road that normally would have been fine, but because of the storm it wasn't fine. We live in the middle of farms and nothingness so there are many, many dirt roads that lead off of this main one. Each one of those dirt roads had flooded into the one we were driving and I was worried our little corolla wouldn't make it and that it would get stuck in these rivers of rain, but we made it home safely! It was pretty crazy though.
Aunt Janet showed up at our church yesterday! She stayed the whole time and it was very good to see her! Of course I recognized her :) I haven't seen her in a while, but I still remember what my own aunt looks like! haha maybe that means that Emree, Annika, Barett, and Ryder will all remember me too :) Although, they are quite a bit younger...but I can still hope, right?  I'm not worried that Adelyn and Jadyn will remember, they better anyways! She said she is going to come to our ward next week too so I'll get to see her again and I'll get a picture with her. It is nice to be in the states! Tell the Abersolds to just call the mission home if they want to find me hahaha that's what Aunt Janet did!

Oh!!! Tell Sister Moss hi for me, and if she does get released, please tell her thank you for me for being such a wonderful YWs President. It is crazy how time flies! All of us who were in YWs when you were President are out of it now and doing lots of other things. But it's okay :) It's great actually! And you can get close to the Primary kids and love them like you did us wonderful young women :) It's different definitely, but little kids have such beautiful, innocent spirits! I love you Mom and I'm sure you are just a wonderful Primary president. Just figure out what you want to do and what the Lord wants you to do and then pray for the guidance and help to be able to do it.

That's what I've been doing out here on the mission. We had interviews with President Nattress (who is just so kind and wonderful and I am so glad that he is my mission president!!!) and training while we waited for our turn and I just knew that I need to more fully focus myself on this work and align my will with the Lord's. And I have seen the blessings that have been coming as I do that. The work is great :)

Our investigators are getting baptized this week and are making wonderful changes in their live. The son, who is 16, is already talking about going on a mission and they want to be sealed in the temple. We have two new investigators and on Friday we had the most OYMs that we have ever had since I have been here. The Lord is so merciful!!!

Lots of other wonderful things have happened this week, but there is no time to write about them. I just feel so blessed to be a part of this wonderful work. Thank you for sharing those wonderful thoughts. It's so great that you got to visit with one of them. As for the other three, just know that as you do what you have been asked to do, the Lord will do His part and will bring them back into the fold. He looks after His own and we don't have to worry. Just remain faithful :) A phrase we repeat often is seeing them in white...maybe that will help remember them as Children of God. All I know is that as we love, with true, Christ-like love, we will be blessed and we will be able to be the best instruments in the Lord's hands that we can be. Love is really critical to it all...to everything in this life.

I look forward to getting your card in the mail soon! I love you so much mom!!! Thank you so much for all that you do for me :) Until next week!

Con mi amor,
Hermana Baria

P.S. Next week we get to go to the temple.
