Sound like you did have a busy
Sunday! You are so right that the time really does fly by when you have
lots of things to keep you busy. That is definitely true here!!! This is
already the last week of the transfer which is so crazy to me! It was
double the time of my first one, but it just flew by! I'm glad you could
share the baptism of 8 story with the primary kids and I hope they are
able to share the Gospel in their own sweet way with some of their
friends.
The temple was great! It was
early, but beautiful and of course, it was a sunny day. I did not get
new garments...we have to get special permission to go anywhere else but
the temple so that's why I sent you my sizes and was hoping that you
could send me some?? We have no idea when the Gilbert temple open house
will be, but we sure hope it is soon. We see it occasionaly when we are
in the most northern part of our area and it is just beautiful!!! I had
no idea that Miranda is engaged! That's so great. Tell her
congratulations for me!
I love hearing about your
babysitting of the grandkids adventures :) It makes it seem like I am
almost right there experiencing it all too! I wish I could hear Barett
and Ryder talk! I bet they are just the cutest :) I can understand that
you aren't ready for summer to be over. That's the best time of the year
in Washington!!! But I'm very excited for summer to be over and for
some cooler weather to come my way :) And just think, only one more
summer after this one and then I'm basically home! Looks like my mission
is going to be shortened by another week so that transfer won't have to
be on Christmas Eve...which means I'll get home the first Monday in
October 2014. Not too far off haha. I can't believe it's already almost
your anniversary again. 38 years??? That's so amazing?! I hope Dad plans
something that you both will really enjoy. You both deserve it!
About the bag...I guess what I
wrote last week was a little confusing. I was hoping you could take the
specifics I said about what I want and then find a few online to send me
pictures of this week and then I could pick which one l like and you
could have it sent to me. That didn't happen...so maybe you could do
that this week and send me pictures on Monday and then I could pick
which one and you could order it and send it to me. I have WalMart and
Target to pick from here and the pickings are pretty slim and what they
do have isn't exactly the highest quality. Once I get the side bag, I
can send you the Camelbak home so that you can use it. As for staying
hydrated...the mission is going to provide to 24oz. insulated Camelbak
water bottels and holders for them to go on our bikes. So no worries
there! If you could figure out some bag ideas ASAP then that would be
great!!!
As for my week...not super
exciting, but still a good week. We were able to start teaching Teresa
who is the mom of the Adriana and Erica who were baptized with the 8.
She is great and both her and her son Francisco want to be
baptized...but with the dad who is also named Francisco, who isn't quite
as ready as the two of them. So we are working on that. But they are
both great and that whole family is incredible. They are always so kind
to us when we come over (and we go over there a lot!!!)...they feed us,
give us yummy Strawberry Horchata and make us eat yummy food, even when
we are already stuffed! We both showed them pictures of our families.
They commented that we are a beautiful family y una familia grande.
Wouldn't have it any other way :)
We received a referral and went
to go and contact her on Monday night. She wasn't there, but her kids
were. We knocked and we heard him yell for his sister. We knocked twice
more...like usual because there is power in the 3rd knock! It got
really quiet inside and the TV turned off...yeah...we realized that we
probably scared them since it was dark and we knocked so many times and
they live in the middle of nowhere. They probably thought we were
some creeps...like we were some muderers in a scary movie. Sorry kids!
Promise we weren't trying to hurt you, just trying to share the good
word. Oh well!!! Then as we were leaving, we got scared too. They had
several goats. Like I said it was dark so we didn't know that they were
there. Apparently, goats can make a noise that sounds like a screaming
child. Well turn about is fair play because the screaming goat scared us
pretty badly too.
At Zone lunch on
Tuesday the Zone leaders told me that whenever something the good or
awesome happens, they use my last name as a term of expression. They'll
just say or shout "Baria!" hahaha definitely never heard that before. I
choose to take it as a compliment :) It was also rainy and overcast and
reminded me a lot of home! It got into the low 80s that day and I was
actually a little cold! Never thought I'd see the day...
Things
are getting better and better with the ward. We are really becoming a
part of it and they are really trusting us. It's awesome! They are
helping more and more and it is so much fun. They are such great people
:) I love it!
That's
most of what happened in my week. Good, but not too exciting. Thank you
for writing me and I hope to hear from you soon :)
Con mi amor,
Hermana Baria
