What a week this has
been. It's been so crazy that I forgot to plan out what I was going to
write to you and I forgot to bring my journal to have something to base
it off of...sooo, I have my planner and I will try my best with that :) I
wrote you on Tuesday last week so I'll start from that evening. We were
planning on meeting up with our investigators Vanessa and Francisco to
have dinner and then go to the temple. But when we showed up at their
house, no one was there and they wouldn't answer their phone. We called
their fellowship in their old Mesa ward who was going to come with us,
but they hadn't heard from them either. And we still haven't. They
disappeared. We think literally. Can't get a hold of them no matter what
we try. So maybe some prayers for their safety would be good. They
recently quit a major drug addiction so we are a little worried about
them. It's just crazy because they came to church last Sunday and they
seemed fine!
Wednesday
we worked the temple and that went well. Thursday Sister Bukoskie
worked the temple and I went to MLC. That was a good meeting. It's long,
but I like going. We were brainstorming the top 3 things, kind of motto
or focus things, that will help our mission suceed. It took a long
time, but we got it to a place that we liked and more importantly, that
President liked. Then on Friday we had Interviews all day and that went
well. The Assistants did a great training and my interview with
President went well. He had me self-rate my Spanish-speaking
ability. Didn't like doing that!!!
Friday
we also had a lesson with our investigators Maybelin and Ariel. It went
well. Our 1st counselor in the bishopric and his wife came. We taught
them the Restoration. They said that they will be baptized when they
know that it is true!!! Music to my ears :) According to them, it will
take quite a while though because it's a process and they have to go
through that process. Makes sense...I guess :)
Saturday
we went to the temple. I was so hungry by the time our shift was over.
We haven't really been getting regular meals lately so that's been kind
of hard, but you do what you can :) We met with our new WML to go over
the week with him since we missed coordination meeting due to our temple
shift. It went well and he said some things that helped Hna. Bukoskie
with the rough patch she was in. He's a good WML. We are excited to see
what changes will happen this year in the work :)
Sunday was
Ward Conference and in a pretty loving way, our Stake President
basically called the Ward to repentance because we didn't get as many
baptism as he knows the ward is capable of. Go President Solomon!!!
Dinner that night was with the Navas and they are just the sweetest
little family. They both served missions and they just had their first
baby (a boy) in November. They make me excited to get married and have
kids in the future. The distant future that is :) That night we had
another mini-MLC to finish what we had been working on. But this time it
was at the Mission Home. I love it when I get to go there. It's just
such a great place and I love the Nattresses.
Another of
the sisters we live with got sick with the stomach flu this weekend so
that makes me the last one in our house that hasn't gotten sick. I hope
it stays that way!!! Our neighbors told us this really awesome story
that I will have to share with you sometime in the future. Or have you
meet them and she can tell it to you since she could do it far better
than I could! Love you and I hope you have a great week!!!
Con amor,
Hermana Baria
