I'm glad that you decided to
spend your early morning time writing me :) I certainly think that's a
better choice then a walk or working in the yard...at least on Monday
mornings! My week has definitely been busy (it always is) and filled
with lots of happy moments...along with a few less happy ones.
HAPPY
ANNIVERSARY!!!!! Your trip sounds like it was great and very relaxing. I
say yes to going rafting at that place when I get back! Or at least the
summer when I get back :) Beacon Rock...I don't think I've ever heard
of it, but it sounds like a lot of fun too! We can re-live this whole
trip when I get home :) Actually, maybe we should re-live all the trips
you take while I am gone so that it's like I never really missed
anything! Great idea! Send the pictures my way! I bet the view was
breath-taking.
It's
great to hear about other people on missions/preparing to go soon. As
far as people talking slowly...I feel like they talk pretty fast!!!
Sometimes they slow down for me though...probably when I have a very
confused look on my face :) There is indeed a Spanish version of A
Child's Prayer. I've had to play it every Sunday for the past few weeks
in Primary because that is the song they are learning right now. They
really like it too so I have to play it a lot :)
Well...our
secure feeling of all us staying for another transfer was smashed when
Sister Walker and Sister Marz walked in last Monday night saying that
they had just received a call from President. Turns out that Sister
Walker is leaving and training and Sister Marz is staying here and
training. Sister Walker was pretty stressed and worried so Sister
Chavarri and I stepped in and packed all of her stuff for her so at
least she didn't have to worry about that! Fastest packing job ever :)
She has so many clothes! And they are all so cute! She hasn't worn all
of them yet either, silly girl :) We wanted to do something to celebrate
our last night together and I had some Coconut Mexican Popsicles so we
all had one of those. We were pretty sad that she was leaving and took
lots of pictures all togehter the next day at transfers.
Nothing
too exciting to report this week. Our recent convert, Abraham (who is
16), went out with the Elders this week. We were at his house sharing a
scripture and he came down the stairs in his white shirt and tie and I
could just see him as a missionary in 2 years. He'll be so great!!!
Franciso, his uncle and our investigator right now who is 19 wants to
serve a mission too. He also told us this week that he wants to go to
BYU!!! That would be so cool. He plays soccer and Sister Chavarri and I
already decided we will be at all of his games cheering him on. And we
can tell everyone around us that we baptized him on our mission! So cool
:)
In
other news with our investigators...Teresa and Francisco were supposed
to be baptized this coming Saturday, but last night Teresa said that she
is going to wait until the 14th of September to be baptized with her
husband since now he wants to learn. It's great that he wants to take
the lessons now, but we wish she wouldn't wait! Francisco wasn't there
and he was frustrated because he doesn't want to keep waiting and
pushing back the day. We have a lesson tonight and are going to see if
he still wants to be baptized on Saturday. We will see!
We
had dinner with this great family. They both served missions...in the
same one actually! They are just so awesome. We've eaten with them
before, but this time he brought out his misison pictures and we went
through them. They were great. I thought of the future...like 20 years
from now...of me having the missionaries over for dinner and pulling out
my pictures. Crazy thought, right?!?
OH!!!!!
We found out some exciting news! Elder Neil L. Anderson is coming to
speak with us! We are pretty excited for that :) We are supposed to
think of good questions to ask him so if you have any idea, just let me
know!
Things are great and I love what I'm doing! Until next week!
Con mi amor,
Hermana Baria
