I’m right there with you Mom. It is so hard for me to
believe that it is already December! And that 2013 is almost over! Time is so
weird. Potential for snow, huh? Definitely none of that for us. I think that is
one of the things that is hardest for me to truly believe that it is
Christmastime…there is practically no weather change! Yeah it’s colder, but it’s
still sunny and really nice most days. Not sure how I really feel about it. I
think I might like the whole seasons changing thing better. Then again, year
round sunny skies is pretty great too. I was wondering if you got the Christmas
tree. I figured that you would have. Did you get a big, pretty one? Everyone
hear just has fake trees. I guess those are easier and all, but there’s nothing
quite like one that you cut down yourself, fresh from the field J I can’t wait to see
pictures!
Hahaha it doesn’t surprise me that you just found the
picture on your phone yesterday. I told Sister Hardt that you pretty much never
check your phone J I’m
glad that you got it though! Speaking of, my Thanksgiving was great! It was a
little strange because it was my first one ever away from home, but it was
awesome J I
don’t think that I have ever been so full in my life. We ate with the Hardts
and their extended family in the morning around 11:30 and then went to a family
that is sort of in our ward around 4:00. And we ate 2 full dinners at both of
their houses. It was all really delicious! Then we also went to our WML’s house
and had a piece of this yummy fruit cheesecake thing. We did tell them that we
were too full to eat any food, but they sent us home for lots of leftovers
which I am planning on having for lunch today J
Oh! Happy Belated Thanksgiving! O Feliz Dia de Accion de Gracias J Happy Thanksgiving is
easier haha. Our WMl’s wife’s family was there and they aren’t really members
and we got to share a message with them and the temple video and it was really
cool. They are all pretty much supermodels so I felt a little underdressed and
undermake-uped….not really a word, but oh well.
But Thanksgiving wasn’t the only thing I did this week
so on to other news. First off, THANK YOU!!!! I got to big, wonderful packages
in the mail last Monday and they were fantastic. You guys are simply the best. On Wednesday we did a service project with our
Zone. We cleaned out the garage and backyard of one of the missionary houses.
It was a lot of fun! It was nice to get my hands dirty haha. You just need some
therapeutic manual labor from time to time J
Like the time we ripped all the ivy off the side of the house. Good times! Then
on Friday Teresa fed us yummy food…on her birthday!!! It was her birthday and
how did she want to celebrate it??? By having us over for dinner. Just the
sweetest lady ever J Last night we went by
the WML’s house again to give him the progress record and go over it with him
and his 8-year-old son said the closing prayer and it was probably the sweetest
thing ever! He asked that we could have the angels with us and that we could
always come over to his house. Made me so happy!
Things are going well. We are trying to get our
investigators to start progressing and to come to church. And as always, we are
looking for more people to teach. I love M. Russell Ballard’s invitation to us
from conference. He says, “We are not asking everyone to do everything. We are
simply asking all members to pray, knowing that if every member, young and old,
will reach out to just “one” between now and Christmas, millions will feel the
love of the Lord Jesus Christ. And what a wonderful gift to the Savior.” How
cool it would be if everyone did this! We would have so many people to teach.
So who is going to be your “one”?
I hope that you have a wonderful week this week. One
other thing I thought of for Christmas. Scarves. I don’t think I brought any
home with me so maybe just one or two cute ones. Nothing too heavy because it’s
not that cold, but it does get chilly! And plus, I love scarves J Thank you so much for
everything that you do for me! I love you and keep you always in my prayers.
Con amor,
Hermana Baria
