Last Monday night
we had a lesson with the Andrades and we taught them about missionary work. It
was really cool. We shared them this video (it’s called I’ll Go Where You Want
Me to Go, look it up on lds.org) about a family sharing the gospel. I was
sitting behind the laptop so I couldn’t see the video, but I could see their
faces and it made me so happy. They loved it! They were smiling so big and it
just made me so happy to see! It made it feel like everything was so worth it…the
gospel is changing their lives and making them happier people and it is just so
great to see! And they are currently praying to know with who to share the
gospel! So awesome.
Tuesday we had a
sisters training meeting and it went really well. Sister Chavarri and I did a skit/training
on the dos and don’ts of bicycle riding. We threw in some funny lines and the
sisters loved it. They clapped and laughed and it went well. It’s always nice to
be with all of the sisters. There are 60 of us now! It’s amazing. I love all of
them too…they are so great to serve with.
Wednesday was
good! I was on exchanges with Sister Carvalho and we saw miracles. We put their
79 year old investigator on date. She is so sweet! That was a spiritually powerful
lesson. Then we did some work in their ysa ward…there is this apartment complex
where this flight school is and it must be pretty good because people come from
all over!! Italy, China, The Republic of Congo, and Ecuador! It was so cool. We
also found someone who wants to come to church on Sunday!
Thursday night we
had a lesson with Natividad. Our mission is doing this thing called the
Reception Center…we can’t call it a visitors center, but we give a tour around
the outside of the temple and then inside the church building we have a family
history room and a bunch of videos and movies they can watch. It’s really cool!
We took Natividad and he really liked it and we started a familysearch.org
profile for him.
Then yesterday we
got a new investigator! She is someone we have been working through an English member
to teach for a long time and finally the member texted us saying that she came
to church and to come over and meet her and we did and then that same night she
came with us to a Joseph Smith fireside! She’s 15 and really sweet and
interested in learning more.
Transfer calls
came and I am staying again!!!!! Yay!!!! Sister Mireles is leaving though so I
will be getting a new companion on Wednesday. Good times. Things are going
great. I’m so happy and I love my mission. I hope that you have a wonderful
week and that I hear from you soon.
Con amor,
Hermana Baria
