Sister Linford and I are staying together. Today marks the first day of my last transfer....which is pretty sad! I can't believe how fast the time is going by. It unsettles my stomach! But life goes on and we just have to make the most of it as moves. :) I laughed out loud when I heard the story about Barett throwing up in sacrament meeting...is that bad? I should probably be more sympathetic to my little buddy, but it's just a funny story. It makes me so happy to hear that everyone will be there the weekend I get home...should I just do my "homecoming" that Sunday?? That might be easiest. Can you arrange that? :)
So this week has been a crazy one! But good :) Last Monday was a
good day. We played the Florence zone in soccer and beat them 9-3 so
that was a fun P-Day activity. Then that night it POURED so after we
finished nightly planning we went out and ran around and danced in it
and it was so fun and refreshing and renewing. :) It hadn't rained like
that in a while and so it was lovely to have. I never thought I would
miss the rain!
Wednesday morning we went and taught seminary at Queen Creek High
School. It was a lot of fun. I always love going into the seminaries. The
youth are awesome. It was also Edith's 73rd birthday so we went over
and brought her a gift and ate some chips and dip to celebrate. She was
very grateful that we came over. She is just the cutest. I can't wait
for you to meet her! Might want to start refreshing your Spanish
listening abilities...she can be a little hard to understand at times.
:) That night after planning we got a call from the other Spanish
sisters...Hermana Mireles (my companion from last transfer) called to
say that she was leaving on Tuesday!!! She met with President and that
was what they had decided was the best. Crazy.
Thursday was good. I had MLC all day and then that night we had the
very first ever Arizona Gilbert Mission Choir performance. It was great!
It was nice to be able to sing in a choir because it has been so long!
Friday was great!!! It was the day of our ward party that we put on
as the missionaries and it went really well! There were soooo many
people there and it was so fun. Five of our investigators came plus a
less active and her non-member former investigator husband. Everybody
really enjoyed it. We played futbol and there was carne asada and it was
just lovely. I love the ward. It's my home too :) in it's own special
way. We also found out that Hna. Mireles would be leaving Saturday and
not Tuesday so she gave the spiritual thought at the party kind of as
her parting words. I gave her a hug goodbye and she started crying. I
can't even imagine having to go home early for health or any reason...it
would be so hard!
Saturday we picked up Hna Woolstenhulme and she will be in a trio
with us until transfers on Wednesday. So it's been a little more crowded
in the barn, but still a good time! We also brought part of the zone
and did some service for Natividad. We are going back on Tuesday because
we didn't have time to finish before we had to go.
Yesterday all 5 of us spoke in church and it went really well!! I
actually really enjoy speaking in church. Hna. Allred cried because she
said she felt the Spirit so much. Hna. Rogers came up to me and told me
that my Spanish was really good! yay :) Hno. Allred said that it was
perfect individually and all together. We got a call from Edith's son on
Saturday saying that one of her other sons died. :( Poor Edith. She
asked if we could come over on Sunday to visit with her and we brought
the Allreds with us and it was great. She was doing well all things
considered and they stayed awhile after we left.
Things are going great here and I'm so excited to finish my mission
here!!! I can't believe how close that is. Hopefully this will be the
slowest transfer yet?? :) The ward is getting better and better and I
just love the people and love being here! I need to work even harder and
finish strong...I don't want to be trunky!! So pray for me :) I love
you all and hope all is well with you.
Con amor,
Hermana Baria
