02.17.2014 - Fourth Time's A Charm

This has been a great week! The Gilbert Temple Open House has come to an end. Fastest month of my knife! It's definitely a very bittersweet ending. I was supposed to have the closing shift, but we had to switch so I was there Saturday morning. It worked out perfectly because I met the mom of one of my good friends at BYU and I met Ben's roommate! So cool! I loved making connections at the temple. So if your friend from Texas was there on Saturday morning I might have seen her! I didn't meet her though. There were so many people there on Saturday. The lines were crazy! I don't know the exact count on how many people went through, but I know it was over 1/2 a million. You should google it and let me know what you find out :) I did get the Valentine package. Thank you so much! I loved it :) We are going to make the cupcakes today! Can't wait! In church last week we sang Joseph Smiths first prayer to the tune of Come Thou Fount. We've sang it before, but obispo liked it so we sang it again!

We had a cool experience this week with being used as instruments in God's hands. We got a message from some English elders about a lady who was having a really hard time and wanted sisters to come and visit her. We were going to go and then all of these things got in the way and delayed us from getting there. But when we got to her door and raised our hand to knock, she walked out!!! It was perfect timing. We walked over to the park and had a long talk with her. She is suffering from depression and is having a tough time right now, but she said because of how we got there just in time, she just felt the love of God for her. It was awesome! We've gone back a few times to help her clean and take care of things and share some scriptures with her. It was just so cool to be there at exactly right time.
We had Zone Conference this week and it got me thinking a lot about being sanctified and being a consecrated missionary. I'm working on giving everything. It's really hard sometimes, but it's just a little bit at a time. I'm focusing on listening to and acting on each and every prompting I receive from the Spirit. Sister Chavarri also made a contract with the Lord of what we are going to do to qualify for all of the blessings and miracles that he has in store for us. I'm half-way through and I just want to make sure that I give this all that I can! No regrets :) Just serving the Lord with all my heart, might, mind and strength.
Saturday was a special day :) and it is where the title of this e-mail comes from. Saturday night was Ramon Garcia's baptism and it was beautiful. He has wanted to be baptized since Sister Chavarri and I were together before, but he has some sort of handicap and it took such a long time to figure out what we had to do to have him be baptized. But everything was figured out and he was baptized! And he was so happy! The bishop baptized him. The first two times didn't count because his jumpsuit kept puffing up and then the third time they started kneeling and that still didn't work and then the fourth time they finally got it all figured out and he was completely immersed. I was praying so hard! I gave the talk on baptism and it went well! So my Spanish is well enough to do that :)
I don't really have time, but know that all is well and that I love my mission so, so much and that I know that I was called to this mission because this is where the Lord needed and wanted me to be. I can't imagine being anywhere else. Even when its almost 90 degrees dusty and hot and still only February :) Can't get much better than that! I love you so much and I hope that you have a great week!

Con amor
