HAPPY BIRTHDAY LIZ AND JADYN!!!! Did you get my
birthday cards? I sure hope so. :)
I’m glad to hear that you had such a great time at Disneyland/California
Adventure/Hollywood/Laguna Beach. What a trip that was! I sure liked it when we
did it! Although, the water wasn’t that warm when we went! But I swam in it
anyway. :) I
can empathize with you having a hard time getting out of bed to exercise this
morning. We wake up at 5:40 to go play soccer at the church for an hour and
sometimes it feels entirely too early. But it’s fun so we keep on doing it! I
can’t believe that Grandpa will be 90 and I will be 20!!! That’s just insane. It’s
about time. :)
One more month and I’m no longer a teenager! I already don’t feel like one
though…age is just a number, right?? As for a picture…is it supposed to be just
me? Or he and I together? The picture of me with him and Althea the day I
reported to the MTC is a good one and that would be fine.
This week was
great, but not a whole lot of things to say. Wednesday we went on exchanges and
I went up to the Gilbert branch. That was an interesting experience! I like
being in the ward. :)
The exchange went well though. We went tracting! It was fun. :) We also talked with
one guy in his driveway for a while. He was fun. A little crazy, but nice. The
people we had dinner with have been to Europe 23 times!!! I gotta get going on
that if I wanna catch up haha. Then we met up and exchanged again with other sisters
for Thursday. Two in a row!! Talk about crazy. This time I stayed in my area.
It was also a good exchange and we were able to OYM with a lot of people! We
also had a quick lesson with some of our investigators. The sister I was with
said that even though she didn’t understand anything (she is an English sister)
she still felt the spirit very strongly so that was cool!
Oh! On Saturday we had a meeting and welcomed 11
mini-missionaries into our mission for the week! We got two of them. :) The sisters we live
with have them for the first four days and we get them this Wednesday through
Saturday. I’ll be with one and Sister Chavarri with the other so it’ll be like
four more days of exchanges! But they are both great and they are here on their
Spring Break which is just awesome. The Barn is a little more crowded, but it’s
worth it. :)
Friday during planning we decided to get our Recent
Converts to the temple to be baptized. So we set up to meet with them that
night. We called the Bishop and our WML and got their approval. They said that
night that they wanted to do it. Then they had their interviews for their
temple recommends on Sunday and passed and we are going with them to the
Gilbert temple tomorrow!!! So exciting. :)
This is the last week of the transfer. I can’t believe
it!!! It’ll be interesting to see what happens when transfer calls come in on
Sunday night. I’ve been here a long time now and I kind of have this feeling
that I need to be somewhere else…like there is someone that I am supposed to
find or something. We will see though!
Thank you for all that you do for me. Thank you for
supporting me in everything and especially in being out on a mission. This is
the best thing I could be doing. I had a moment this week on exchanges where it
just really felt like this is my life…being a missionary, that is. I just don’t
feel like I really did anything before or that there is an after…everything
else but here is just kind of a weird dream. It’s the strangest thing!!! But I’m
glad to be here :) I
know what I am doing is good. I know this gospel is true. I know it blesses and
changes and unifies lives and families. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior
and Redeemer. I know I am a daughter of God and He loves me.
May you have the best week and always remember that I
love you very much!!!
Con amor,
Hermana Baria
