03.31.2014 - Se Fue El Bigote!

Oh Heavenly Father is so good to me. Even when things are a little tough he just sends me an extra dose of love from all around. Thank you so much for your e-mail! You made me cry there at the end, but what you said meant so much to me. You are the greatest!
I can’t believe that tomorrow is April!!! Birthday month! Haha. It’s crazy, but I am so excited. Just one more week. Sister Chavarri is a rugby player so she requests some pictures/footage the next time you see a rugby tournament going on. :) No new address. Transfers were two weeks ago and I stayed. I thought I mentioned that, but I guess not! So just go ahead and send things to the Barn. As for the wedding and a big blowup picture…I’m going to have to go with no on that one. I think I’ll just send my love instead. But a new dress and new shoes….that wouldn’t be so bad. :) A nice purple dress I could wear on the big day…that would be nice. Oh! Speaking of…I’m talking about the green dress with the white/cream flowers on it…it zips up on the side and it has a band around the waste, a little higher up…like half sleeves I think…there is a picture of me in it on Facebook somewhere. Ringing any bells?
This week was good. Monday night we went over to our old WMLs house for dinner. We were just going over to talk to her (his wife) about fellowshipping one of our investigators and she calls us to tell us that she invited three of her non-member friends. She is awesome! They were really nice! They don’t live around here and didn’t seem that interested, but we shared a scripture and testified of Christ. One of them is trying to make it big in the music business. He basically sounds like Pitbull…his stage name is Angello so keep an eye out for him! Maybe he’ll be famous by the time I get home.
Tuesday was good. We got to go and teach seminary at another high school. This time it was the high school that our mini missionaries go to. It was so great to see them! And they knew the answers to the questions that people don’t normally know so apparently something went right in the 9 days they were serving.
Wednesday we were on exchanges. We had a lesson with Edith in the morning and we talked about the importance of reading and praying about the Book of Mormon and about how that is going to be how she receives her answer. And then we ate lunch with her. Her son who is a member made us rice and tilapia and we had yummy juice and cinnamon rolls for dessert. We biked all day that day and it was a little rough going…the sister I was with hadn’t ridden her bike that many times and she fell…and the chain came off…and she couldn’t go very fast. I felt pretty awful because we biked a ton that day too, but it all worked out okay and she is such a trooper! I just apparently don’t have really good luck biking with people who aren’t my actual companion!
Thursday was MLC and that went well! We talked a lot about basic principles and received training on those and it was a good way to refocus on what really matters and on what it’s really all about.
Friday was good and is where the title of this e-mail comes from. During the day we had weekly planning. Then for dinner we went over to a recent coverts house. She is so funny! She’s one of the sisters in the Garcia family. After we finished eating, she was heating up some wax to clean up her eyebrows because she was going to a big concert that night. Then she asked Sister Chavarri if she wanted her to wax her mustache…and then we all ended up getting our mustaches waxed! Even Elder Macfarlane waxed is eyebrows! (well, just the part between the two, so now more unibrow) So the top of my lip is hair-free haha. It was strange and my upper lip still feels weird and I probably won’t wax again, but it was so funny! Then that night we had a great lesson with Natividad and the members he lives with gave us some of the homemade ice cream they made that day… with goat’s milk. It wasn’t really that bad actually!
Saturday was a little tough for me. I don’t know why, but it was just sad. Actually, I do know why, but it was still weird. I think I was just being extra sensitive, but it was still hard. But the Lord knows what he is doing…I realized that in my personal study this morning as I was reading President Monson’s talk “I will now fail thee, nor forsake thee.” Read it. It’s so good. It was exactly what I needed to hear and it made me realize that the Lord is just answering my prayers in a way I didn’t expect, but that I now see is the only way possible to make it happen. And the General Womens Meeting that night was great. And Edith came to it!!! She is so sweet. And she loved it! She is so close, I can just feel it.
Yesterday was good. Edith came to church and so did Concha and Naty and Karina and Natividad. He was the best one though. On our lesson with him on Friday he told us about a dream he had of him in a white shirt and tie like a missionary and then he showed up to church in a white shirt and tie!!! But the tie was really short, but it didn’t matter because he looked great. Last night we also got a new investigator! Concha and Rene’s daughter is 8 and she was with us at the lesson we had and she said she wants us to start teaching her too. Concha and Rene are getting married May 24th and then all four of them (Concha, Rene, Naty, and Rossy) will be baptized on May 31st. It’s so exciting!
This weekend has helped me to come closer to my Savior and I have felt Him supporting my and helping me when I didn’t feel like I could do it. I know that He loves us. I know that Heavenly Father loves us too. Never, ever, ever forget that. I can never deny that. Ever. I’ve seen it and felt it in too many ways. This is true. This is happiness.
I love you and hope that you have the best week. I’m sending a letter for you to take with you to Utah and give to grandpa. Drive safely and have a great time. Send my love to all of the family! Tell them if they have a few extra minutes, they are more than welcome to send me a letter. :)

Con amor,
Hermana Baria
